1. Strongsville residents in November will vote on a 1-mill levy for the Fire Department (dailydispatch.com) — Strongsville voters will decide Nov. 3 whether to approve a new 1‑mill continuing fire levy that would cost about $35 per $100,000 of home value and raise roughly $2.3 million annually. City leaders say the money would help staff a fifth fire station and add 12 firefighters amid rising EMS calls, after already boosting staffing and more than doubling General Fund support for fire operations.

Ohio AG's Office awards over $2.5 million to local drug abuse response teams (athensmessenger.com) — Strongsville residents should know their police department is receiving $89,043 from Ohio's Drug Abuse Response Team grant program to support opioid addiction response and recovery outreach. The statewide initiative funds 38 agencies through June 2027, helping connect overdose survivors and families with treatment, recovery support, and other services aimed at reducing future overdoses.
3. Severe storms hit Northeast Ohio with a larger, more dangerous cluster still approaching (cleveland.com subscription) — Strongsville is under a severe thunderstorm warning as powerful storms sweep across Northeast Ohio, bringing risks of 60–70 mph winds, torrential rain, hail, and dangerous lightning. Residents are urged to shelter in sturdy buildings, avoid flooded roads, and have multiple ways to receive updated warnings as an even larger storm cluster moves through this evening.
