Strongsville Superintendent's Contract Renewed
Cameron Ryba will continue to serve as the school district's leader through at least 2023. The district treasurer was also renewed.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville School District's leadership team will remain in place until at least 2023. Superintendent Cameron Ryba and Treasurer George Anagnostou both received five-year contract renewal approval from the Board of Education on Tuesday.
Ryba took over the superintendent role in Strongsville in 2015. Anagnostou started the same year.
The district is currently enacting its "Strong Schools 2020" plan, which is focused on getting Strongsville Schools ranked in the top 10 percent of all district in Ohio by 2020. In recent years, the district has refurbished Strongsville High School, hired an Operations Manager to oversee facility developments, and received massive donations to the "Excellence in Athletics" campaign.

“As a Board, we recognize the accomplishments of our District in the time Mr. Ryba and Mr. Anagnostou have been part of our leadership team. They have been unwavering in their pursuit of achieving our District goals of Academic Achievement and Growth, Financial Prudence, and Community Engagement. They each have a strong vision to continue to grow our District, ultimately benefiting our students and our community,” said Carl Naso, president of the Strongsville Board of Education, in a statement.
Ryba said in a statement that he was grateful for the Board's vote of confidence. He added that it has been an honor to work with Strongsville teachers, staff, and students.

In early May, the district announced that Strongsville High School Assistant Principal Stephen Breckner would transition into the role of Operations Manager for the district and oversee Building and Grounds, Maintenance, Transportation, and Food Services. Breckner's two year contract for the position begins on Aug. 1, 2017.
The schools recently received a $20,000 donation to create a MakerSpace at the high school, and a pair of donations totaling $55,000 for the "Excellence in Athletics" campaign. The Strongsville City Club donated $25,000 to the campaign Friday, and the Cleveland Futbol Club made a $30,000 donation the same day. The donations will be used to upgrade the athletic facilities at Strongsville High School and Strongsville Middle School.
The MakerSpace donation, from the GDP Groups, will go to installing project-based learning labs, innovative spaces, and areas focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
