The welcoming is Wednesday evening and funeral Mass Thursday morning at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel, with livestream available. Her decades of ministry in area schools and congregational leadership touched many local families.

• Diver dies in Lake Huron (dailypress.net) — A 62-year-old man from Sylvania died Friday during a recreational dive at the Cedarville shipwreck site in northern Lake Huron, despite immediate lifesaving efforts by fellow divers and responders. Cheboygan County authorities say equipment and charter operations don’t appear to be factors, and the investigation continues. Local residents may know the victim, whose name was not released here.
