Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. Washington Local Schools has re-issued its mask mandate just eight days after lifting it, reports superintendent Dr. Kadee Anstadt. The mask policy went back into affect due to a dramatic rise in COVID cases, about 53 in one week, which is the highest number the district has seen. (WTOL)
  2. The Toledo Museum of Art is hosting this year's "Focus Show," displaying 141 pieces of art from students at 27 high schools in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The event dates back to 1971 and the opening ceremony will be held at TMA's The Little Theater on November 19. The art will be displayed at the University of Toledo's CVA Gallery November 15-December 10. (Toledo City Paper)
  3. Toledo Police are investigating an allegation of menacing after an unidentified man followed a Wildwood Academy student home near Bernath and Firethorne on Monday around 4 PM. The student, 13 years old, ran home after the man exited his vehicle and began approaching on foot. (13abc Action News)
  4. Toledo Police are investigating an aggravated robbery on Monday after it was reported that two masked men pulled a gun on a man waiting at a stop sign at Dana and Somerset, got into his car, and then made him drive into an alley. It was reported the robbers took the man's phone and used Cash App to send themselves money. The man managed to escape but suffered injuries to his back. (13abc Action News)
  5. Toledo Area Bicyclists celebrated the age of their oldest member, Hubert J. Backes, who turned 84 this year. Following tradition, the group rode a mile per year and this year's route looped around Whitehouse, Ohio. (Toledo City Paper)

  • On Tuesday night, the University of Toledo hosted a forum to discuss the 55th anniversary of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. The Black Panthers originated in Oakland, California and the event was meant to highlight the true story of the activist group. (WTOL)
  • Today, Imagination Station is screening the 1986 classic Top Gun at its new KeyBank Discovery Theater. The event is part of Imagination Station's Science After Dark Special Features series and tickets are $10.(13abc Action News)
  • The City of Toledo held a contest to inspire businesses and residents of the Glass City to 'beautify' their spaces. Pam Lloyd-Camp, owner of Boyd's Retro Candy Store, won the contest for her immaculate landscaping outside the shop at the corner of Sylvania and Phillips. A pool of 12 neighbors near Prospect Avenue joined forces to improve their neighborhood and won the contest as well. (13abc Action News)
