Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. Residents in North Toledo were without power after a TARTA bus crashed on Suder Avenue near Northwyck and Manhattan Thursday morning. Toledo Edison crews quickly addressed the issue and managed to get the power back on in just a few hours. (13abc Action News)
  2. Toledo Police have issued a warrant in the shooting death of 28-year-old Robert Kynard, who was allegedly killed by 27-year-old Rasheed Fisher. The crime occurred in North Toledo Wednesday night on Elm Street. Kynard was taken to a hospital by Toledo Police but succumbed to his injuries. (WTOL)
  3. Toledo Police Detectives and Toledo's Fire Investigation Unit are on the case after Capital Care of Toledo Ohio, a clinic that provides abortions, on West Sylvania Avenue went up in flames Sunday night. Arson is suspected as authorities found evidence of an accelerant after the fire started at an electrical box outside the medical facility. (WNWO NBC 24)
  4. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department has announced several vaccine clinics after a CDC advisory panel approved Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5-11. Clinics will be held at various schools throughout Lucas County and at the Lucas County Rec Center. (13abc Action News)
  5. Toledo Public Schools and ProMedica have announced a partnership to bring students the opportunity to attend the Toledo Pre-Medical and Health Science Academy. The new school will focus on biomedical science, pre-medicine, pre-nursing, and all health science fields. The school will be located on Upton Avenue at the existing Toledo Technology Academy, which is undergoing renovations in preparation for the new venture. (WTOL)

  • Residents of Maumee have reported a potential scam by someone posing as City of Maumee Fire & EMS. The scam appears to be offering t-shirts representing the fire department, though officials have denied having anything to do with it. (13abc Action News)
  • Toledo voters said "No" to the Imagination Station levy that was on the ballot this past Tuesday. Money from the levy makes up about 30% of the science center's budget, but the Imagination Station will remain open and may put forth another levy attempt in a future election. (13abc Action News)
  • The second annual toy drive for Mercy Health Children's Hospital is being put on once again by Little Miss Ohio Addison King and Little Miss Buckeye Kallie Lewis. Several drop-boxes will be located around Toledo until December 5. (WNWO NBC 24)
  • Hollywood Casino Toledo is offering credit in exchange for SeaGate Food Bank donations during the month of November. The casino is giving out prizes each week for donations received, culminating in a potential bonus prize if they reach their goal of 50,000 lbs of donated food. (WNWO NBC 24)
  • Scott High School is offering a free CPR training this Saturday from noon and 5 PM. Studies show that the chances of a person surviving cardiac arrest double or even triple when bystanders perform CPR. (13abc Action News)
