Good morning, Toledo! Here's everything you need to know to get this Tuesday started. These are the most important things happening in Toledo today.

Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. The Lucas County Health Department will begin offering the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson boosters this week. Boosters will be available for those eligible: 65 & older, 18+ with underlying conditions, and anyone exposed through job or home life. (13abc Action News)
  2. Toledo's Glass City River Wall mural gains national attention on CBS' Sunday Morning as it will soon be the largest mural in the US. The artwork depicts Native People as the first farmers of the region, which also ties in with the project's philanthropic inspiration of feeding the world. (WTOL)
  3. Lucas County has been awarded $268,000 for crime prevention from the US Department of Justice. Funds will go to Toledo Police for upgraded technology and programs like the domestic violence high risk team. (WTOL)
  4. Toledo Fire & Rescue is investigating a Sunday morning house fire in South Toledo. The residents of the home, located at the 4200 block of South Avenue, were not present at the time. (13abc Action News)
  5. State Rep. Haraz Ghanbari and Senator Theresa Gavarone presented a $26,000 award to the Ft. Meigs Historic Site on Monday. The funds were provided by Ohio Humanities for public humanities organizations impacted by the COVID pandemic. (WNWO NBC 24)

  • WTOL's Jerry Anderson met with several guests for the latest Leading Edge. Interviews included Toledo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Romulus Durant; and Toledo City Council candidates Dr. Michele Grim and business owner Tim Ryan. (WTOL)
  • Bedford Public Schools in South East Michigan are moving two classrooms to remote learning and instituting a mask requirement district-wide. The measures come as officials have seen an uptick in COVID cases across the board. The positive cases have affected staffing issues throughout the district. (WTOL)
  • Toledo Police are investigating several shootings that occurred over the weekend. A house with an adult and two children inside was shot at in South Toledo in the 1100 block of Rockcress. (WTOL)
