Health officials advise Toledo residents how to protect themselves as smoke lingers from Brent Industries incident (wtol.com) — Health officials are urging south Toledo residents near the Brent Industries fire site to limit smoke exposure, keep windows closed, and consider HEPA air purifiers as air quality may remain poor. People, especially children, seniors, and those with asthma or COPD, are advised to watch for breathing problems and contact a doctor if symptoms worsen.

Island projects help bring back the Maumee River's 'story to tell' (toledoblade.com) — Major restoration work on Maumee River islands near South Toledo and Walbridge Park is rebuilding long-eroding habitats while also protecting boats at the Maumee River Yacht Club. Backed by H2Ohio and federal Great Lakes funds, revetments, native plantings, and similar projects at Audubon Islands are stabilizing shorelines, improving wildlife habitat, and supporting the region's boating and fishing economy.

Former Pawsible Angels owner pays $5,000 civil penalty following Ohio AG lawsuit (wtol.com) — From Toledo, state officials confirmed that former Pawsible Angels director Michele Frank paid a $5,000 civil penalty to resolve an Ohio Attorney General lawsuit over the Findlay-based nonprofit's charitable practices. The settlement permanently bars her from fundraising for or working with charitable organizations anywhere in Ohio.
