🌱 Woman Dies After Bronson Ave. Fire + 2 Robberies In W. Toledo

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:
- A woman has died as a result of injuries sustained in a house fire that occurred as a result of a disposed cigarette February 8 at the St. Hedwig Senior Apartments. Toledo Fire & Rescue report the death was confirmed by the Franklin County Coroner last Thursday. (WNWO NBC 24)
- Toledo Police are investigating two robberies at West Toledo businesses that occurred Saturday. The Circle K on Havherill Drive was robbed at gunpoint just before 3 AM, and the Dollar General on Phillips Avenue was robbed in a similar fashion around 7:45 PM. (WTOL)
- The former Days Inn on Miami Street in East Toledo officially has new owners after Canadian company RM International Group won the bidding process on February 17. The new owners intend a complete overhaul and turn the space into a hotel and restaurant for travelers along I-75. (WTOL)
- Toledo Police honored the memory of Detective Keith Dressel on the 15th anniversary of his line-of-duty death on February 21, 2007. Detective Dressel was just 35 years old when he was fatally shot by 15-year-old Robert Jobe after intervening during a drug transaction. (13abc Action News)
- The 5th annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day at the University of Toledo will see 750 seventh and eighth grade students to the UToledo campus. The event is designed to spread awareness and interest in the science and technology fields and has twice won the National Women in Engineering Action Committee's Girls Day Event of the Year award. - There are several Ohioans that participated in the Olympic Games, including locals from Northwest Ohio. Madison Hubbell of Sylvania participated in figure skating, while former Walleye player Pat Nagle participated in hockey. (Toledo City Paper)
- Gas prices rose 8.8 cents a gallon in Toledo last week according to GasBuddy. The prices are 26.6 cents higher than last month and 66.2 cents higher than last year. (WTOL)

- Positive Image Dance Studio has relocated to a new address on Woodville Road in Millbury. Started by Northwood High grad Amelia Burkey, the studio opened in 2018 and now enjoys more space at the new location. (Press Publications Inc.)
- A new mural on the outside of Robert's Food and Spirits has been put up in honor of 10-year-old Damia Ezell, who was killed in a shooting in early February in Toledo's Old West End neighborhood. Artist Dean Davis created the mural, which is just a few blocks from Glenwood Elementary where Damia was a student. (WTOL)
