• Troy ordinance prohibiting habitation in vehicles moves to third reading (miamivalleytoday.com) — Troy residents should know City Council is slowing down a proposed ban on living in vehicles, sending it to a third reading and adding requirements for outreach before citations. Council also advanced projects for the police building, Aquatic Park, Duke Park, Miami Shores Golf Course, and set 2027 tax levies, plus confirmed trick-or-treat on Oct. 29 from 6-8 p.m.
   

• Troy tennis coaching legend Mark Goldner picks up his 1,000th career win (miamivalleytoday.com) — Troy tennis fans are celebrating longtime coach Mark Goldner’s remarkable 1,000th career win leading the Trojans. Now in his 56th year coaching boys and 19th with girls, the Troy High School alum has guided teams to 25 league titles and countless tournament runs, while still mentoring a young, improving girls squad this season.
   

• Court hears pretrial motions before Caleb Flynn murder trial starts (eagledayton.com) — In Troy’s Miami County Common Pleas Court, prosecutors and defense attorneys met privately to prepare for the upcoming murder trial of Caleb Flynn, accused of killing his wife in Tipp City. The judge will rule Monday on motions about victim presence, recording limits, and separating witnesses, with jury selection set to begin Thursday, Sept. 17.
