• Tuscarawas County Public Library's Emmie Troyer wins Ohio Emerging Leader Award (yourohionews.com) — A Tuscarawas County Public Library staffer is being recognized statewide for expanding bookmobile outreach and services that directly benefit residents across the county. Mobile services supervisor Emmie Troyer earned the Ohio Library Council’s 2026 Emerging Leader Award for launching a full bookmobile, strengthening school partnerships, and bringing materials to homebound patrons. She’ll be honored Oct. 21 at the council’s convention in Sandusky.
   

• Ohio's latest measles outbreak doubles with new cases (dispatch.com) — Tuscarawas County now has multiple confirmed measles cases in the latest Ohio outbreak, including exposures tied to events in Sugarcreek and at an auction visited by local residents. Health officials say all known Tuscarawas and Ashtabula cases so far are unvaccinated, and they’re urging families to check MMR vaccination status as statewide and national measles numbers climb to levels not seen in decades.
