• Summit County Sheriff's captain charged with strangulation, claims self-defense (wkyc.com) — A Uniontown resident who serves as a Summit County Sheriff’s captain is on unpaid leave after being charged in Stark County with multiple strangulation counts and a domestic violence charge. Court filings say the incident happened while he and his wife transported their daughter from a mental health facility, and his attorney claims his actions were in self-defense while trying to protect her. The case remains under investigation and no findings have been made.
