• VWCO Sheriff's activity log 10/1/2026 « The VW independent (thevwindependent.com) — Van Wert County deputies handled a busy October 1, from reckless driving calls and EMS assists in Convoy and Ohio City to multiple felony warrant services ordered by Van Wert Common Pleas Court. Deputies also helped with a funeral escort from Van Wert, located missing juveniles for Van Wert City Police, and managed several medical and animal-related calls across the county. 
• Van Wert County Sheriff's Office Awarded Funding (mercercountyoutlook.net) — New federal traffic safety funding will bring over $50,000 to the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office to boost patrols and enforcement on local roads. Sheriff Riggenbach says the money will target distracted, impaired, and unsafe driving on major highways and neighborhood streets, aiming to reduce serious and fatal crashes across Van Wert County.
• May They Rest in Peace: Sr. Kathleen Voss, OP (detroitcatholic.com) — Local Catholics may remember Sr. Kathleen Voss, who taught at St. Mary School in Van Wert during the 1969-70 school year and went on to a long ministry in education, counseling, and pastoral care. Her obituary traces a life devoted to children, mental health work, and art, culminating in her final years with the Adrian Dominican Sisters in Michigan.
