District leaders say stronger relationships with families, better wellness support, and clear messaging about daily attendance are key, and they’re aiming to cut absences by 10% next year.

Warren man accused of firing shots held without bond (tribtoday.com) — A Warren man is being held without bond after police say shots were fired near Woodview Circle and Cranwood Drive, with a handgun and casings later recovered from his home. He pleaded not guilty to felonious assault in Warren Municipal Court and is scheduled to return to court on June 9.
   

3. Warren council could tackle redistricting this month (tribtoday.com) — Warren City Council is weighing new ward boundaries that could reshape how residents are represented for the first time in more than 30 years. Proposals aim to fix big population imbalances between wards while keeping neighborhoods and natural dividers like the Mahoning River in mind. Council members say they’ll keep refining maps over the next 10 days and want more resident input.
   

4. Elvis Costello's 'Radio Soul' Tour Adds US Dates (ultimateclassicrock.com) — Elvis Costello is bringing his Radio Soul tour to Packard Music Hall in Warren on September 15, giving local fans a rare chance to hear songs spanning his early to late career. The U.S. leg also includes nearby stops in Cleveland and other regional cities, with ticket presales starting Wednesday and general sales on Friday.
   

5. Prosecutor says charges will not be filed in October officer-involved shooting in Warren (wkbn.com) — Warren residents are learning that no charges will be filed in the October police shooting of a Bristolville man after a multi-agency chase that ended on city streets. Investigators say the man pointed a realistic replica gun at officers in Warren before being shot, and the prosecutor concluded the officers’ actions were legally justified. State investigators are also reviewing a separate, more recent Warren police shooting.
