Peterson Applauds Controlling Board Approval of Funding for Historic Washington Auditorium Project (ohiohouse.gov) β A $500,000 state grant is headed to the Historic Washington Auditorium project backed by Washington Court House City Schools, supporting major interior renovations like replastering the main theater. State Rep. Bob Peterson says the long-loved performance space will be refreshed as a cultural centerpiece for Fayette County, with work expected to wrap by June 2027.

β’ WCH council approves joint application for housing grant (recordherald.com) β Washington Court House City Council has fast-tracked approval to jointly apply with Fayette County for a 2026 CHIP housing grant that could bring $300,000 to the city and $400,000 to the county for home repairs. If awarded, the funds would help local homeowners and landlords make properties safer and more livable through rehabilitation and rental repair projects.

β’ Crews contain hazardous acid leak from semi-truck at local travel center (recordherald.com) β Hazmat specialists from Washington Court House Fire and Rescue helped Jefferson Township crews contain an acidic waste leak from a semi-truck at the TA Travel Center near I-71. Officials say the spill was neutralized, kept out of nearby water, and left the area safe despite pavement staining, with no injuries or property damage reported.
