Cadillac Escalade Stolen In Westlake

WESTLAKE, OH — A really nice car was stolen from a Westlake man on May 25. Read more about how the theft went down and other incidents from the last week.

Motor Vehicle Theft, May 25 - An unlocked 2016 BMW station wagon was rummaged through on Barclay Boulevard. The key to the owner's other car, a 2013 Cadillac Escalade, were inside. The Escalade was stolen and later recovered in Solon on May 27.

Theft, May 26 - More than $460 was stolen from a student's wallet at Westlake High School. The student had left the wallet unattended for a short while. Another student at the school was found to be flush with cash in the exact amount missing from the other student. The money was confiscated and the juvenile court prosecutor will rule on the case.

Menacing, May 26 - In violation of a temporary protection order, a man visited his ex-girlfriend on Hedgewood Avenue. Police officers from Westlake and North Olmsted found the 35-year-old man in the backyard of the home. He was arrested for menacing by stalking.

Theft, May 27 - Two wallets were stolen from a Texas man when he stayed at a Sperry Drive motel. The wallets had cash and credit cards inside.

Fraud, May 28 - Twelve counterfeit $100 bill were used at a Main Street Store on May 28. Three men were suspected of using the bills to buy items and receive genuine currency in exchange. Staff at the store said they expect the items will be returned to other stores for cash.

Theft, May 29 - A U.S. flag and 14 solar lights were stolen from neighboring apartments on Detroit Road.
