• North Olmsted at Westlake football: Preview capsule for Sept. 18 game (morningjournal.com) — Westlake football fans can look ahead to Friday night's home matchup against North Olmsted at Lou Duchez Field, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The Demons bring a high-scoring passing attack but must tighten their run defense against the Eagles' powerful ground game, which just produced nearly 200 rushing yards from Ameer Silmi. 
• BAY VILLAGE/WESTLAKE: Police pursuit ends after standoff (westlifenews.com) — A late-night police pursuit that started in Bay Village ended near Hilliard Boulevard and Bradley Road in Westlake, where officers used a PIT maneuver and eventually a K-9 and Taser to arrest a Parma man. Westlake residents may notice the heavy police presence that occurred Sept. 4 and should know the driver now faces multiple charges in Rocky River Municipal Court and additional counts in Westlake.
