Mayor Explains Charter Amendment Vetoes, Council To Hold Special Meeting

Mayor Dennis M. Clough has decided to veto six proposed ordinances to amend the City Charter, which were approved by a two-thirds vote of City Council on July 16, 2020. His reasons for doing so are detailed in a press release available on the city’s website.

City Council subsequently scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. to discuss the vetoed ordinances. The meeting will be open to the public at City Hall with social distancing and mask requirements in effect.
