Narcan Given To Woman Overdosing In Westlake, Police Say

Officers had to give the anti-overdose remedy to a woman on Riviera Lane.

WESTLAKE, OH — Police used an anti-overdose drug to revive a Westlake resident on Dec. 27, according to a police spokesperson. Evidence of suspected opioid use was collected from the resident's home.

According to police, they were called to a home on Riveria Lane for a reported drug overdose on Dec. 27. Officers gave the resident Narcan, an anti-opioid overdose drug, and revived the resident.

The resident was then taken to a hospital for further treatment. Police searched the resident's home and collected evidence of suspected opioid use.

A Westlake police spokesperson said officers were still investigating the incident.

The last time Westlake police had to administer Narcan was in late November. A 25-year-old woman on Hilliard Boulevard had to be give the anti-overdose drug during a suspected narcotics episode, police said.
