Nursing Home Aide Had Patient's Missing Credit Cards: Westlake PD
Westlake police said a nursing home aide was found with a patient's missing credit cards.
WESTLAKE, OH — A nursing home staffer was found with a patient's missing credit cards, according to Westlake police. The staffer was taken into police custody after she was stopped on Columbia Road for driving with a suspended license.
Police stopped the woman's car on October 3 at 2:30 p.m. The woman had an active warrant for her arrest with North Olmsted police and had a suspended driver's license. When officers spoke with the woman, she said she was on her way to a local nursing home, where she worked.
According to police, there were signs of drug use in the woman's car. Officers searched the vehicle but couldn't find any narcotics. However, they did find two credit cards with a man's name. The driver said she did not know the man listed on the cards.

Later investigation revealed the credit cards belonged to a patient at nursing home where the woman worked. Administrators told police the woman had no reason to have the man's credit cards, police said. Officers also discovered fraudulent charges had been made on the card.
Before officers determined who the credit cards belonged to, they turned the woman over to North Olmsted police on their warrant.

Westlake police said the woman will now be charged with driving under suspension and felony receiving stolen property.
