Ohio wedding descends into chaos after brothers attack partier in Westlake (amedpost.com) — A wedding reception at La Centre Banquet Facility in Westlake erupted into a chaotic brawl when several brothers allegedly attacked guests, one reportedly brandishing a butter knife. Westlake police responded to dozens of panicked attendees, later arresting three men on charges including assault, inducing panic, aggravated menacing, and violating a court order tied to family tensions.
3. Westlake's 'Spider-Man,' 86-Year-Old Paul J. Johanni Sr., is an Example of Extraordinary, Ongoing Kindness (thevillagernewspaper.com) — An 86-year-old Westlake resident, Paul Johanni Sr., has quietly spread kindness from his Bassett Road home by crafting and giving away more than 3,800 whimsical "spider" sculptures. Many were shared through the Westlake Community Services Center, recognizing everyday good deeds and even earning a spot in the center's time capsule.
4. Nursing home employee accused of stealing more than $2K from 86-year-old resident (azfamily.com) — Westlake police say a nursing home aide is accused of withdrawing $2,500 from an 86‑year‑old woman's account using ATMs at a Citizens Bank in Westlake. The victim's sister reported suspicious activity, and with help from The Inn at Joshua Tree and the bank, officers identified and arrested 37‑year‑old Daisy Torres on felony theft and credit card misuse charges.
