Cleveland Pops Orchestra announced as headliner for Willoughby July 4 event (cleveland.com) — Willoughby is planning a free July 4 celebration featuring the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, family activities, and fireworks on the campuses of Andrews Osborne Academy and the Fine Arts Association. Festivities start at 6 p.m., with the Pops performing at 8 p.m. and fireworks around 9:45 p.m., and residents are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for the community gathering.
   

2. Mother and son sentenced in Fox Run shooting death (gazettenews.com) — Sentences have been handed down for a mother and son after a 2025 shooting at The Hamlets at Willoughby on Fox Run Drive, with the son receiving 21 years to life. The case continues to affect Willoughby residents as three other men, including one from Willoughby, remain jailed and await trial in Lake County Common Pleas Court.

Jeff Fox stepping down as Nordonia (OH) football head coach (on3.com subscription) — Willoughby South High School is getting a new athletic director, as longtime Nordonia football coach and Willoughby alum Jeff Fox leaves Macedonia to return to his hometown school. Fox steps down after 14 seasons and 106 wins, while Nordonia eyes assistant Scott Barwidi to keep its successful program on track.
