• Ohio Controlled Hunting Permit Applications Now Open (littermedia.com) — Hunters in and around Zaleski can now apply for controlled hunting permits that include Zaleski State Forest and the adjacent Waterloo Wildlife Area for the 2026–27 season. The state is running online and phone lotteries through July 31 for deer, grouse, raccoon, and other species on select public lands, with special opportunities for youth, adults, and hunters with mobility impairments.
