• Sand Springs sophomore qualifies for state (keystonegusher.com) — Bixby track fans will recognize their own standout, Benjamin Scrapper, as the only runner to edge Sand Springs sophomore Cole Higgins in the 800 at regionals, where Higgins qualified for state in both the 800 and 1600. Earlier this season he turned heads at Bixby’s Spartan Invitational and other meets statewide, steadily dropping his times and emerging as a serious state-level contender.
