Broken Arrow honors nation's 250th anniversary with community time capsule (ktul.com) — Broken Arrow city leaders and residents just buried a 25-year time capsule at Veterans Park as part of the community’s kickoff for America’s 250th birthday celebrations. The capsule is filled with items meant to capture today’s life in Broken Arrow, and it’s one of several local events planned to mark the nation’s upcoming semiquincentennial.

Broken Arrow fireworks stand back open less than two weeks after fire burned it to the ground (newson6.com) — A Broken Arrow fireworks stand near 236th and Kenosha has fully rebuilt and reopened less than two weeks after an accidental electrical fire destroyed it and thousands of dollars in inventory. Firefighters contained the blaze in about 20 minutes, and with wiring and bulbs now replaced, employees are counting on a busy Fourth of July week to recover losses.

Tulsa-area donation drive collecting aid for Venezuela After Devastating Earthquakes (ktul.com) — Broken Arrow residents can directly support Venezuelan earthquake survivors by donating supplies at local Supermercados Morelos locations and the Ángeles en Tulsa collection center on West Concord Circle North. Organizers are seeking food, water, clothing, medical items, and more, stressing that every contribution from Green Country helps families in hard-hit communities outside Caracas recover.

5. Lucinda Elaine (Garrison) Beck (eurekaherald.com) — Broken Arrow is mourning longtime resident Lucinda “Cindi” Beck, 76, who passed away June 21 after a brief battle with cancer. Raised in rural Kansas, she built a career in office management and specialty retail before settling in Broken Arrow with her partner of nearly 30 years, Ron Fink, and remained part of the community until her death.
