• Gould Relishes Second IMCA National Crown (speedsport.com) — Calera racer William Gould has won his second IMCA Modified national championship, 13 years after his first. His 18 victories helped secure the title by 14 points, making him one of just eight repeat champions in the division since 1982. Gould and his wife, Dana, covered much of the season's costs themselves. 
• Cherokee Communications donates $50,000 to support Montgomery Auditorium renovations (durantdemocrat.com) — Calera-based Cherokee Communications has given $50,000 to help renovate Montgomery Auditorium at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The gift supports improvements inside Morrison Hall, the university's first campus building, built in 1910. Company president Jenny Sanchez attended Southeastern before completing her degree elsewhere.
• Human trafficking operation in Bryan County leads to 1 arrest, victims recovered (kxii.com) — Calera police joined a Durant-area human trafficking operation that led to one arrest, with other investigations continuing. Nonprofit Skull Games Solutions said two trafficking victims were recovered and offered services, and additional possible victims were identified. Daniel Kerschen faces charges of soliciting prostitution near a church and violating Oklahoma's computer crimes law.
