• Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes break ground on Elk City casino, hotel and convention center (koco.com) — A large new Lucky Star casino, hotel and future convention center is coming to 327 S. Eastern in Elk City, just south of I-40 near Walmart and Hobby Lobby. The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes have broken ground on the multi-phase project, which will add gaming, lodging, dining, an arcade, RV park and more amenities over time. 
• Oklahomans feel rumble from Texas panhandle earthquake (koco.com) — Early Thursday’s 5.0 magnitude earthquake centered near Pampa, Texas, was strong enough to be felt in Elk City, along with Sayre and Oklahoma City, though no major damage was reported. Residents described a sharp jolt and brief shaking, and officials say aftershock risk remains possible for several days even though none had occurred by Thursday afternoon.
