Brecheen announces 15 town halls across 2nd District (muskogeepolitico.com) — Residents in Jay will have a chance to meet Congressman Josh Brecheen at a town hall on Tuesday, August 25, from 8–9 a.m. at the Delaware County Library on South 9th Street. The visit is part of his 15-stop tour across Oklahoma’s 2nd District, giving locals a direct opportunity to ask questions and hear updates.
   

• Alan Walker (blogspot.com) — Jay is mourning the loss of 71-year-old Alan Walker, a longtime resident and rancher who built his family home near town and raised his three sons here. His funeral will be held Monday, August 10, at Southwest City Full Gospel Church in Missouri, with visitation beginning an hour earlier and memorials directed to the church or Circle of Life Hospice.
