• Kingfisher County Residents Gain Free Access to Nation's First Community Access Portal Program (allabouthennessey.com) — Kingfisher County residents can now use two free, high-tech private portal pods at Kingfisher Memorial Library to access telehealth, counseling, job interviews, classes, and government services without leaving town. The new Community Access Portal Program, the first of its kind in the nation, is part of a statewide broadband initiative but launched here in Kingfisher first.
   

• Kingfisher Board of Education President speaks on Superintendent's resignation (okcfox.com) — Kingfisher Public Schools’ superintendent Andy Evans has resigned effective September 10 amid revelations that the district ended the fiscal year roughly $800,000 in the red instead of a projected $400,000 surplus. At a tense school board meeting in Kingfisher, board members questioned communication about the budget, while the board president stressed Evans’ resignation was voluntary and not forced in executive session.
   

• Officer Luis Rojo Completes D.A.R.E. Instructor Training (allabouthennessey.com) — A Hennessey police officer who serves Kingfisher County has completed D.A.R.E. instructor training, joining just two other D.A.R.E.-certified law enforcement officers currently working in the county. He’ll soon bring the updated, decision-making-focused D.A.R.E. curriculum into local classrooms, aiming to help area students handle peer pressure and make better choices as they approach middle school.
