• Kingfisher employees hurt during flash explosion at power plant (koco.com) — Two City of Kingfisher employees were injured in a flash explosion Wednesday while doing planned certification work on a generator at the city’s power plant, but their injuries are not life-threatening. Officials say the generator will remain offline during an investigation, and they’re emphasizing employee safety while working to understand what went wrong and prevent future incidents. 
• KHS sweeps through opening day of regional (kingfisherpress.net) — Kingfisher High School’s softball team dominated the opening day of its first-ever home Class 4A regional, routing Cushing and Ada to move within one win of a regional title. Strong performances from pitcher-hitter Lily Voth, Callie Blair, and teammates powered big innings that thrilled home fans and set up a Friday showdown for a super regional berth.
• Gossen, English repeat as Best of Wheat grand champions (einpresswire.com) — An Oklahoma State Fair bread-baking contest celebrating Route 66 crowned repeat grand champions Korben Gossen and Renee English, while recognizing top bakers from across the state. Kingfisher’s own Don Robison brought home a senior-division state title for his whole wheat bread, earning a champion tray and ribbon and putting the town on the culinary map.
