Jury convicts Oklahoma City man in 2024 homicide; life with parole recommended (okcfox.com) — An Oklahoma City jury has convicted 66-year-old Kenneth Davis of murdering his 71-year-old roommate, Merle Southwick, and recommended a life sentence with the possibility of parole. Southwick was found shot multiple times in August 2024, and Davis was later arrested in Colorado and returned to Oklahoma County Jail; his formal sentencing is set for October 12, 2026.
   

2. Oklahoma City police seek dialogue with teens amid concerns about youth violence (koco.com) — Police are responding to a weekend shooting that injured an 18-year-old at a northeast Oklahoma City birthday party by restarting their Youth Engagement Council in just over two weeks. The program brings local high school students together with officers to discuss safety, traffic stops, and reporting weapons, as neighbors worry teens lack positive activities and investigators still seek witnesses.
   

3. Special Care expansion will serve nearly 200 more Oklahoma children (news9.com) — In Oklahoma City, Special Care is finishing a 30,000‑square‑foot expansion that will let it enroll nearly 200 more children with and without developmental disabilities from its long waitlist. The project, led by local firm Quad Construction, will also grow the autism clinic, add a storm shelter, and create an all‑day program for kids with severe and profound disabilities, significantly expanding services for metro families.
   

4. 'In this together': Memorials around the world unite with OKC to turn tragedy into remembrance (koco.com) — Oklahoma City's National Memorial and Museum is marking the upcoming Sept. 11 anniversary with a special September exhibit highlighting how OKC, New York, Oslo and other cities turned terror attacks into education and remembrance. Museum leaders are sharing lessons learned, releasing a new documentary, and joining international partners in New York to emphasize unity and preventing future violence.
   

5. Oklahoma Lottery Mega Millions results for Sept. 8, 2026 (oklahoman.com) — Oklahoma lottery players can now check the Sept. 8 Mega Millions numbers and see if their ticket hit the 17-30-43-58-66 combination with Mega Ball 20. Winners can mail signed tickets and claim forms to the Oklahoma Lottery's Oklahoma City P.O. Box, with the option for direct deposit if they include bank details.
