• State confirms 6th deer with Chronic Wasting Disease in Oklahoma (okcfox.com) — A wild deer found just two miles south of Optima has tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease, prompting state wildlife officials to set up a focused surveillance area nearby. Residents and hunters around Optima are being urged to stay informed and share feedback as new CWD management rules go through public comment this fall and eventual state approval steps.
