ā¢ OSU researchers develop new fabric to reduce firefighters' cancer risk (newson6.com) ā Oklahoma State University researchers in Stillwater are developing a new protective fabric aimed at blocking cancer-causing airborne particles from reaching firefightersā skin while keeping gear breathable. The project, led by OSUās Textile and Apparel Science Lab, could significantly improve long-term safety for firefighters and may eventually benefit other workers exposed to hazardous particles.
