Tulsa Fire Department partners with Manna Air Delivery to expand emergency response (fox23.com) — Tulsa Fire Department is teaming up with Ireland-based Manna Air Delivery to explore using drones as ultra-fast first responders for medical supplies and emergencies. You can see the technology in action at a public showcase September 23 at Tulsa Tech's Lemley Memorial Campus, but space is limited and requires online registration for a firsthand look at potential future lifesaving tools.
   

2. Oklahoma experts push new housing policies to address rising costs and low homeownership (kjrh.com) — State lawmakers and housing experts are zeroing in on Tulsa's slow housing growth, noting the city permits far fewer new units than Oklahoma City and faces rising costs and low homeownership. 3. Some Tulsa teachers are struggling to afford homes — Habitat for Humanity is working to fix it (newson6.com) — Tulsa teachers now have a bigger shot at owning homes, as Green Country Habitat for Humanity expands its Education Begins With Home program beyond Tulsa Public Schools to Union and seven Tulsa-area charters. Backed by a $1 million Zarrow Foundation gift, eligible educators can receive up to $50,000 in forgivable down payment help. Applications are open now through Habitat's website.
   

5. Unity in the Community returns to Tulsa for its second year (fox23.com) — Unity in the Community is coming back to Tulsa this October with free family activities, resources, and a car and motorcycle show at Greater Union Baptist Church. You can enjoy food, live music, kids' activities, and neighborhood resource booths on Saturday, October 24, plus a special Unity Service on Sunday, October 18, all aimed at strengthening connections across Tulsa's north side.
