North Tulsa families urge bus routes as students walk unsafe roads to school (ktul.com) — North Tulsa families say young students walking from Edenwood Apartments to Burroughs Elementary face busy traffic, debris, and no bus service because they live under the 1.5‑mile cutoff. Nonprofit The Met Cares has organized a "walking school bus" with more than 100 volunteers to boost safety and fight chronic absenteeism in Tulsa Public Schools while pushing for new transportation solutions. 
2. Tulsa high school students turn donated medical supplies into learning tools (newson6.com) — Union High School students in Tulsa are transforming donated medical equipment into classroom kits that introduce local elementary kids to health care careers. The effort is part of Union Public Schools' growing medical pathway and Youth Medical Mentorship, which connect students with real tools, local hospitals, and mentors to keep future health professionals living and working in Tulsa.
3. Jonathan Brooks named Tulsa's 42nd police chief (ktul.com) — Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols has selected longtime deputy chief Jonathan Brooks as the city's 42nd police chief, succeeding Dennis Larsen after his Sept. 30 retirement. Brooks, a nearly 30-year TPD veteran, plans to focus on crime prevention, reducing violence, mental health responses, and rebuilding trust between officers and Tulsans through community-focused programs.
4. TCSO partners with ICE to allow deputies to perform immigration enforcement tasks (ktul.com) — Tulsa County Sheriff's Office has entered a new agreement with ICE that lets specially trained deputies perform certain immigration enforcement tasks under federal supervision. On top of its existing jail-based program, the county will now join ICE's Task Force Model, enabling deputies to help identify, arrest, and hold people they suspect are undocumented immigrants.
5. Tulsa DUI crash raises questions about Oklahoma's new felony law (fox23.com) — A six-car crash in downtown Tulsa near Guthrie Green and the Tulsa Arts District has led prosecutors to upgrade a driver's DUI charge from a misdemeanor to a felony under Oklahoma's tougher law. After FOX23 questioned the initial charge, the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office reviewed missing crash details, raising new scrutiny of how serious DUIs are filed and how bonds are set.
