Baker City man pleads guilty to Investment Fraud (elkhornmediagroup.com) — A Baker City investment adviser has pleaded guilty to a long-running fraud scheme that stole more than $1.6 million from at least fourteen clients, many likely local. Federal prosecutors say he misused stock investments for nearly 17 years; sentencing is set for December with restitution promised to victims.

Baker City walk raises money to fight child trafficking (bakercityherald.com) — Baker City residents can join the Soroptimist Walk for Awareness on Saturday, June 13 at Geiser-Pollman Park to support the fight against child trafficking. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with speakers from the FBI and Shared Hope, a family-friendly walk, kids activities, food trucks, and prizes, alongside Oregon Trail Days festivities in the park.
