Beaverton School District Testing All Buildings for Lead in the Water

Beaverton - which found elevated levels of lead at two schools last month - will not test all buildings.

Beaverton School District will test all facilities for lead in the drinking water, they announced Thursday.

Last month the district disclosed there were elevated lead levels at two drinking fountains at Highland Park Middle School.

The district will have a contract by the end of the day Friday with a company to conduct lead testing.

The district has set up a web page for information on lead testing and water quality.

The news comes after the disclosure that Portland Public Schools may have known about lead problems six years ago and now is contending with elevated radon issues.
