Bend police respond to over thirty teens blocking traffic, driving recklessly on e-bikes (kval.com) — Bend police responded Sunday after more than 30 teens on e-bikes and e-motorcycles reportedly blocked traffic and rode recklessly through downtown and westside streets. Officers ultimately cited three juveniles and impounded one vehicle, while reminding Bend families that kids under 16 cannot legally ride e-bikes and that e-bikes are banned from sidewalks.

Bend Woman's Tea Strainer Collection May Be the Largest in the World (bendsource.com) — A longtime Bend resident on Awbrey Butte has amassed 420 tea strainers from around the world, possibly among the largest collections anywhere. She’s now sharing the history of tea and women’s rights through local talks and hopes to eventually donate the collection to a museum focused on women’s liberation.
   

4. City & County Officials Spotlight Clean Transportation Benefits of Clean Cars & Electric Vehicles (cascadebusnews.com) — Local leaders in Bend, including the mayor and a city councilor, gathered with advocates to push for continued federal support of clean cars and electric vehicles. With gas near $4.90 a gallon, they argue more EVs and charging stations could cut costs for Bend residents while improving air quality and energy independence.
