Mosaic Health Launches Public Phase of Conners Campus Capital Campaign (bendsource.com) — Bend’s east side is getting a major new health hub as Mosaic Community Health pushes to raise the final $900,000 for its Conners Campus, which will double the organization’s capacity in town. The 42,000‑square‑foot facility will expand medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, and pediatric services, especially for low‑income residents. Construction is underway now, with opening planned for summer 2027.

Deschutes County offering continued support sessions this week following Silver Rail tragedy (centraloregondaily.com) — Free community support sessions are being offered in Bend this Tuesday and Wednesday to help residents cope after the Silver Rail Elementary shooting, with crisis counselors using small-group discussions and proven stress‑management techniques. While Monday is reserved for directly supporting Silver Rail students and staff, anyone in Bend can also access 24/7 walk‑in mental health care at the Deschutes County Stabilization Center or call local and national crisis lines.
   

3. When words fail, these cellists let music speak for grieving Silver Rail community (centraloregondaily.com) — In Bend, local cellist Chris Thomas and fellow musicians are helping the Silver Rail Elementary community grieve through a quiet memorial performance on campus. By sharing a Bach piece that moves from darkness toward light, they hope music can offer comfort and a sense of hope to families, staff, and neighbors still reeling from the recent tragedy.
   

4. The week in news: CU Pride Fest unites community, Pope Leo on road to recovery after lung cancer surgery (dailyillini.com) — Residents in Bend are learning more about last week’s deadly shooting at Silver Rail Elementary, where three children and a teacher were killed and a local resident fatally stopped the teenage gunman. Authorities say another teacher and student from the Bend school remain hospitalized as investigators continue piecing together what happened and state leaders publicly mourn the loss.
