• OSU researcher incorporates socioeconomic factors with assessing wildfire risk and recovery (klcc.org) — Cave Junction is singled out in new Oregon State University research as one of several small towns where wildfire risk is higher than previously believed once social and economic vulnerability are included. The study aims to guide how limited state and federal wildfire mitigation and recovery funds are prioritized across the Pacific Northwest ahead of a potentially volatile 2026 fire season.
