• City of Portland owes $1.6M in missed payments to a regional cable commission (kgw.com) — Fairview’s cable and broadband oversight commission is short more than $1.6 million after Portland failed for years to transfer required payments, affecting all member cities. As the Mount Hood Cable Regulatory Commission prepares to dissolve this month, Gresham and other partners are pressing Portland for a deeper audit and a clear repayment plan to make each jurisdiction whole.

• Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program FY 25 (portland.gov) — Fairview is part of a regional area benefiting from new federal justice grant funding, including upgraded East Metro SWAT rifles used in Fairview and nearby cities. The grant also backs Portland police equipment, youth violence prevention, and Multnomah County’s Justice Integrity Unit, which reviews convictions and streamlines expungements across the county.
