City of Grants Pass Opens Search for New Human Resources Director (grantspasstribune.com) — Grants Pass is recruiting a new Human Resources Director to join the city’s executive leadership team and oversee hiring, employee relations, and workplace culture across multiple departments. Applications are being accepted now through GMP Consultants, with the first review set for July 5, 2026. The role will help shape city operations and support the workforce delivering daily services to residents.
   

2. Grants Pass selected for national Juneteenth freedom walk (kobi5.com) — Grants Pass has been chosen as one of just ten U.S. cities to host Opal’s Walk for Freedom, a national Juneteenth event. On Friday, June 19, residents can walk a 2.5‑mile loop at Reinhart Volunteer Park, then enjoy food trucks, vendors, performances, and family-friendly activities without needing to register in advance.
   

3. One deceased, one injured following serious crash in Grants Pass (kobi5.com) — A 22-year-old driver was killed Wednesday morning after his car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle on Highland Avenue in Grants Pass, igniting one car. The other driver was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, and police say their investigation is complete.
   

4. Josephine County has Oregon's lowest student vaccination rate (opb.org) — Families in Grants Pass should know Woodland Charter School has one of Josephine County’s lowest student vaccination rates, with fewer than 40% of students fully vaccinated and nearly half claiming nonmedical exemptions. New state data show Josephine County has Oregon’s lowest overall school vaccination rate and the highest exemption rate, raising concerns about measles and other disease risks in local classrooms.
