1. DOR's Portland, Gresham offices to be closed October 6 (oregon.gov) — If you rely on the Oregon Department of Revenue's Gresham office at 1550 NW Eastman Parkway, note it will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 6, for staff training. A secure drop box will still accept payments and documents, and normal 8 a.m.–5 p.m. hours resume Wednesday, with several other regional offices also closed that day.
   

2. Gresham Japanese Garden to illuminate autumnal magic (theoutlookonline.com) — Gresham residents can enjoy a free Autumn Illumination at Tsuru Island in Main City Park from Oct. 12–24, with lights on nightly from sunset to 10 p.m. The display will highlight the garden's fall colors and is organized by the volunteer-run Friends of the Gresham Japanese Garden.
   

3. UPDATE: Missing Man Has Been Found (portland.gov) — A Portland man with dementia who was once found walking near the Gresham–Clackamas County border has again gone missing but has now been safely located and reunited with family. Police thank community members for helping, and remind residents to stay alert for vulnerable neighbors who may wander in this border area.
   

4. Police believed to have shot Portland K-9 Kylo during arrest of Gresham homicide suspect (portlandtribune.com) — A recent homicide in Gresham led police to track a suspect into Portland, where a shootout killed the man and fatally injured Portland police K-9 Kylo, apparently by friendly fire. Investigators from Gresham, Portland and Multnomah County are still piecing together what happened, and body-camera footage is expected to be released in early October.
