Mom Finds Blade In Daughter's Halloween Candy: Police

Tiffany Beehler told Washington County deputies her 13-year-old found the blade in a Twix bar after trick-or-treating Halloween night.

BEAVERTON, OR — The Washington County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday morning received a report that a Beaverton mom found a small blade in her 13-year-old daughter's Halloween candy.

Deputy Jeff Talbot, spokesman for the sheriff's office, said Tiffany Beehler took her children trick-or-treating the night before in the neighborhood around their home, close to the intersection of Northeast Cornelius Pass Road and NW/NE Quatama Road, in what is technically unincorporated Washington County.

Later Halloween night, Beehler's daughter reportedly came to her with a blade embedded in a bite size Twix bar. The blade may be from a pencil sharpener, Talbot said, adding that he is unsure if the candy was completely sealed before the 13-year-old girl opened it.
