• Crash on Highway 26 sends 2 Mount Vernon men to hospital (bluemountaineagle.com) — Traffic on Highway 26 through John Day was disrupted April 17 when a two-vehicle crash in front of the John Day Sinclair station sent two Mount Vernon men to Blue Mountain Hospital. Police say a car turning left from the station was struck by a westbound pickup, spinning it off the road and briefly rerouting traffic through a nearby weigh station while responders cleared the scene.
