📰 News we're reading
• Oregon Prepares for a Challenging Summer of Water Shortages and High Fire Risk (nytimes.com) — A John Day-based fire chief warns that low snowpack in the nearby Strawberry Mountains means wildfire season will start earlier and last longer around town this year. With much of the West facing low snow and record warmth, local crews expect drier conditions, higher fire danger, and more pressure on water supplies as summer approaches.
