• Carnival rides return to the mix for 2026 KeizerFEST (keizertimes.com) — Keizer residents can look forward to full-size carnival rides returning to KeizerFEST at Keizer Rapids Park from May 14–17, with 10 big rides and food booths planned. The Keizer Fire District’s Sunday pancake breakfast moves to the big top tent, and kids can join a Lego Challenge, all amid stepped-up security and a focus on family-friendly fun.
   

• McNary students march against Trump administration, ICE (keizertimes.com) — McNary High School students in Keizer walked out Wednesday, marching along River Road to protest federal immigration enforcement, the Trump administration, and to support transgender rights. About 20 students chanted against ICE, carried signs like “Abolish ICE,” and used a megaphone to share their concerns before returning to campus.
