• Jefferson County logs: intoxicated driver crashes into fence (madraspioneer.com) — Madras residents can see a full snapshot of April’s police activity, including 774 total calls, 24 DUII arrests, and 26 crashes handled by Madras Police. Recent Jefferson County sheriff calls also include a stolen vehicle recovered in Madras, a disturbance at the Madras Homeless Shelter, and a DUII arrest after a fence crash involving a Madras resident. 
• Family loses their RV home, many birds die in house fire (madraspioneer.com) — A Madras family of three lost their RV home and vehicle in a major fire on NE Collins Drive, though they escaped unharmed with their two dogs. The condemned house on the property, used to shelter dozens of birds and other animals, was destroyed along with most animals inside. Fire crews fought the blaze defensively, one firefighter was treated for exhaustion, and investigators are still determining the cause.
• Reported explosion sparks house fire in Madras; no injuries reported (ktvz.com) — A reported explosion led to a house fire Wednesday morning on Southeast Turner Street in Madras, but all four occupants got out safely and no injuries were reported. Jefferson County Fire & EMS, Madras Police, the Sheriff’s Office and state and relief agencies all responded, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the blaze.
