• Medford police report axe wielder shot by neighbor (rv-times.com) — Medford police are investigating a pre-dawn shooting after a resident reportedly fired at a neighbor who was allegedly trying to break into an apartment with an axe on South Oakdale Avenue. The 22-year-old suspect was hospitalized with a nonfatal gunshot wound, and no one else was hurt. Authorities say any potential criminal charges will be announced once the investigation is complete.
   

• Residents concerned after Mountain Top Village development moves to court (kobi5.com) — A major apartment proposal in East Medford’s Vista Pointe neighborhood has bypassed a planned City Council hearing and is now headed to Jackson County Circuit Court after the developer claimed the city missed a key planning deadline. Neighbors worry about wildfire risk, traffic, and parking, and are frustrated they lost their chance to speak publicly in Medford’s process. The court will now decide whether the project moves forward.
