Linn County commissioners finalized the zoning and comprehensive plan changes after prior approvals from the city and planning commission, with no public opposition at the hearing. 
• School district seeks nominees for awards program (canyonweekly.com) — Families and residents in Mill City can now spotlight their favorite Santiam Canyon School District staff through a new PTO appreciation awards program. Community members submit short nominations by the 20th each month, with winners drawn on the first and celebrated with a gift basket, while all nominees receive public recognition throughout the school year.
• The amazing Peter Parsons (canyonweekly.com) — Mill City’s own hiking pioneer Peter Parsons is getting renewed attention, drawing Swedish relatives and outdoor historians to town to explore his remarkable long-distance treks.
