• House passes $13 million measure to rebuild Milton-Freewater's water system (elkhornmediagroup.com) — Milton-Freewater is a step closer to a major overhaul of its aging water system after the U.S. House approved a bipartisan measure authorizing $13 million for a new Middle Reservoir and network upgrades. The bill still needs Senate approval and appropriations, but city leaders say it could prevent steep rate hikes for residents already paying about $80 a month for water and sewer.
