State Sends Hazmat Team, Fire Crews To Newport Seafood Plant Fire (rogueriverpress.com) — A major fire at Pacific Seafood in Newport led the Oregon State Fire Marshal to send a hazmat team and extra fire crews to support local responders. Because the plant uses anhydrous ammonia for refrigeration, specialists monitored air quality and modeled potential evacuation zones to protect nearby neighborhoods and workers.
   

4. Oregon State Police Daily Dispatch Log 10/28/26 (lincolncityhomepage.com) — Oregon State Police recorded several incidents in and around Newport on October 28, including an injury crash on Highway 101 and a DUII arrest near milepost 138. The log also details crashes, hunting violations, and arrests across Lincoln County, giving residents a snapshot of recent safety and enforcement activity affecting local roads and communities.
