Bankruptcy Court Approves Plan to Shutter Haggen in Oregon City

Store will close by May.

While it's not been a secret that the days were numbered for the Haggen in Oregon City, Tuesday it took one more step to becoming a reality.

A bankruptcy court judge approved a plan that shutters the store forever.

Haggen had purchased more than one stores from Albertans when they merged with Safeway.

It proved too be too much, too fast for the chain and they entered bankruptcy last year.

Tuesday's decision to approve closing the Oregon City store was part of a larger plan that will see several stores remaining open as Haggens and others once again becoming Albertsons.
